2011 Awards - The Voting Process
How does the process work?
Safari specialist operators, agents and travel journalists are invited to vote and each year over 1000 votes are received. The credentials of every single voter are verified to ensure that the votes accurately and honestly represent the views of the industry- those who really know Africa.
The votes are counted and based purely on numbers, shortlists in each category are formed and sent to our panel of judges. The judges are all highly-regarded independent safari specialist operators from around the world. The judges score the shortlists and based on their scores, the winners are produced.
The Good Safari Guide Team has no influence over the Award results. The Good Safari Guide is not a tour operator and has no commercial interest in any lodge or camp. The Awards process is transparent and above all honest. There is no cost involved for any part of the Awards process - it is completely without prejudice or cost that a lodge or camp receives votes, is shortlisted, or wins an award.
