The Good Safari Guide

Safari Jeep

The Good Safari Guide differentiates the top 5% of all safari lodges and camps that have the respect and support of the top safari specialist tour operators from the remaining 2,800+ lodges and camps in Africa.

To be selected a safari lodge or camp must achieve finalist status in The Safari Awards sponsored annually by The Good Safari Guide. Over 350 selected and vetted African travel specialists nominate the best safari properties in twenty categories and a panel of independent Judges with faultless credentials make the final decisions on finalists and award winners. Only awards finalists and winners are allowed to be in The Good Safari Guide.

The guide is aimed at travel buyers, consumer and trade, that have the means and capacity to book a safari. The 2012 Good Safari Guide distribution partners are Condé Nast Traveller UK, Tatler, Condé Nast Brides and Travel Africa Magazine reaching a total of 96,121 affluent consumers. In addition, we send the guide to The Good Safari Guide Trade Buyer 'A' List, Media 'A' List and the consumer and trade voters in the 2011 Safari Awards – a total of 3,308 media and key safari buyers.

Going way beyond the information that you will find on a website, the Good Safari Guide publishes enough detail for experienced travel agents and travel advisors to sell a safari property off the page with the confidence it wouldn't be there unless it was excellent. With camp maps, large format images and third party descriptions of the facilities, guiding and other aspects of the property the Good Safari Guide provides the detail on a safari camp or lodge that can only be discovered once visited.
